Bob Dylan's Epic 1974 Tour Gets Massive 27-CD Release with 417 Unreleased Songs

Sony Music is releasing an unprecedented Bob Dylan collection titled "Bob Dylan — The 1974 Live Recordings" on September 20 via Columbia/Legacy. This massive boxed set features 27 CDs containing 431 tracks from Dylan's historic 1974 tour with The Band, including 417 previously unreleased recordings.
The collection expands significantly upon the original "Before the Flood" live double album, addressing longtime fan requests for more complete documentation of this legendary tour. While a full vinyl release isn't planned due to the extensive size (which would require approximately 50 records), Third Man Records will offer a special condensed vinyl version.
The vinyl edition will be a three-LP set plus a 7-inch single, featuring unique versions of songs not included on "Before the Flood." Available exclusively through Third Man's Vault subscription service until July 31, this green-vinyl collection will be titled "The 1974 Live Recordings — The Missing Songs From Before the Flood."
This release stands separate from the ongoing "Bootleg Series" and follows the format of 2019's "The Rolling Thunder Revue: The 1975 Live Recordings." While substantial, it's still smaller than "The 1966 Live Recordings," which spans 36 discs.
