Blue Note Jazz Club expands its iconic brand to Los Angeles in 2024, featuring dual performance spaces with 200 and 100-person capacities alongside a full-service restaurant. The new Hollywood location marks a significant addition to Blue Note's global presence, which includes venues in Hawaii, Tokyo, Italy, China, Brazil, and Napa.

Grammy-winning artist Robert Glasper will curate events at the Los Angeles venue, expanding on his successful Robtober residency. "Los Angeles has always been a second home to me, and I can't wait to bring L.A. culture to the Blue Note," Glasper shared.

The expansion includes a landmark partnership with the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival, which will be renamed the Blue Note Jazz Festival. The festival, originally established as the Playboy Jazz Festival in 1979, will launch its new era on June 14 at the Hollywood Bowl. The full lineup will be announced on February 18, with tickets available in May.

LA Phil's president and chief executive Kim Noltemy expressed enthusiasm about the partnership: "This collaboration represents a shared dedication to celebrating jazz and its extraordinary artists while continuing the legacy of world-class music at the Bowl."

The venue's opening comes at a crucial time for Los Angeles's jazz scene, as several established venues have recently closed. Blue Note's successful track record includes their Napa festival, which launched in 2022 and features a diverse lineup of jazz, R&B, and hip-hop artists, including performers like Mary J. Blige, Chance the Rapper, Maxwell, and Nas.
