Founded in 2020, WMI aims to become a dominant player in India's music industry through a three-pronged strategy:

  • Bringing Indian music to global audiences
  • Establishing itself as a major cultural force in India
  • Securing a top-three market position in revenue and market share

SkillBox, co-founded by Amnol Kukreja and Sandip Ranjhan, has evolved from a ticketing platform into a comprehensive live entertainment company offering:

  • Artist tours
  • Ticketing solutions
  • Branded event experiences
  • Community-driven events
  • Artist management
  • Live technology solutions

The platform currently serves over 1.5 million users and will help WMI connect artists with fans across India while expanding its services in technology and artist management.

This investment aligns with Warner Music Group CEO Robert Kyncl's focus on emerging markets, particularly India and China, as key growth areas. The partnership aims to capitalize on India's growing live entertainment sector while generating multiple revenue streams beyond traditional music sales.

Jay Mehta, Managing Director of WMI, emphasizes that this collaboration will create new opportunities in India's rapidly expanding entertainment market, particularly in live events, merchandise, and brand partnerships.
