- Voice replication capabilities
- AI voice agents for customer service
- API integration support
- Third-party LLM compatibility
Notable investors in the funding round include:

Mahmoud Felfel, PlayAI's co-founder and CEO and former WhatsApp software engineer, emphasizes that "speech as an interface" represents a significant market opportunity. The company plans to use the funding to enhance its platform and accelerate the development of human-quality speech experiences for businesses.
The investment reflects the rapid evolution of the AI sector, particularly in voice technology. While facing industry challenges such as copyright concerns and unauthorized use of protected media, AI tools continue to expand their legitimate applications in music creation, sound generation, and artist-authorized works.
PlayAI (formerly PlayHT) launched its core platform in early 2024, with Kindred founder Steve Jang joining as a board observer to support the company's growth and development in the competitive AI voice technology market.
