Virgin Media O2 has reported record-breaking early access ticket sales for 2024, with 1.54 million Priority Tickets sold between January and November - a 12% increase from 2023.

The top-selling artists through Priority Tickets were:

  1. Dua Lipa
  2. Peter Kay (comedian)
  3. Lana Del Rey
  4. Usher
  5. Billie Eilish
  6. Bruce Springsteen
  7. Justin Timberlake
  8. Linkin Park
  9. Tate McRae
  10. Iron Maiden

This success aligns with broader trends in the concert industry, where major tours from artists like Pink have broken sales records throughout 2024. Live Nation and CTS Eventim continue reporting strong financial results, with more major tours announced for 2025 from acts including Toto, Keith Urban, AC/DC, and Kendrick Lamar.

However, the live entertainment industry presents a mixed picture in 2024:

  • Multiple artists have had to reduce or cancel touring plans
  • Over 170 music festivals were cancelled during the year
  • Even Coachella, traditionally a sellout event, struggled to fill capacity in 2024
  • Despite high ticket prices and consumer complaints, dedicated fans continue paying premium prices for select performances

The Priority Tickets program, which gives Virgin Media O2's 45.8 million UK customers early access to concert tickets, has proven particularly successful against this backdrop, indicating strong demand for carefully selected touring acts despite broader industry challenges.
