In a recent development, three individuals have been charged in connection with Liam Payne's death in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in October 2024. The former One Direction star was 31 when he fell from a hotel balcony.

Argentine prosecutors have charged Rogelio 'Roger' Nores, a close friend described as Payne's "self-proclaimed manager," alongside a hotel employee and an alleged drug supplier. Nores faces charges of "abandoning a person followed by death," which carries a potential 5-15 year prison sentence.
Investigations revealed that Payne had consumed alcohol, cocaine, and antidepressants in the days leading to his death. The charges stem from the accused parties' alleged negligence and failure to intervene during the singer's relapse.
Nores denies the allegations, stating he visited Payne three times on the day of the incident and left just 40 minutes before the fall, with the singer reportedly in good spirits among a group of people in the lobby.
The two hotel workers are accused of facilitating access to controlled substances and failing to intervene during Payne's distress. Prosecutor Andrea Esteban Madrea's 180-page report details the timeline and evidence leading to these charges.
A private funeral is planned in the UK, with One Direction members and Payne's partner, Kate Cassidy, expected to attend. The investigation continues as Argentine authorities work to uncover all facts surrounding the tragic incident.
