Sony Music Publishing Renews Global Publishing Deal with TIPS Music, Expands YouTube Rights

Sony Music Publishing has renewed its exclusive global administration deal with India's TIPS Music, expanding to include YouTube worldwide (excluding India) for international publishing exploitation.

The multi-year agreement covers TIPS Music's catalog of over 32,000 tracks across 24 languages, featuring prominent Bollywood soundtracks and popular Indian music. TIPS Music plans to release 12-15 Bollywood/regional film albums annually, along with independent music under Tips Originals.

  • Administration and synchronization rights
  • Expanded promotion across global digital platforms
  • YouTube rights worldwide (except India)
  • Enhanced monitoring and reporting systems
  • Access to Sony's international network of partners

Guy Henderson, President International at Sony Music Publishing, praised TIPS' exceptional growth, while Kumar Taurani, Managing Director of TIPS Music Ltd., highlighted the significant international growth achieved during their initial partnership.

Dinraj Shetty, Managing Director of Sony Music Publishing India, emphasized their commitment to bringing Indian music to global audiences. TIPS Music CEO Hari Nair noted that Sony's world-class reporting systems and international network would drive significant growth in their publishing revenues.

This strategic renewal strengthens both companies' commitment to expanding Indian music's global presence, particularly as Bollywood soundtracks gain increasing international popularity.
