Olivia Rodrigo and Daniel Nigro Win Top Honors at ASCAP Pop Music Awards
ASCAP has announced the winners of its 2024 Pop Music Awards, celebrating the most successful songwriters and publishers of the past year.

Top honors went to Olivia Rodrigo and Daniel Nigro as Songwriters of the Year for their work on "vampire" and "bad idea right?". This marks Rodrigo's second win in this category since 2022.
Charli XCX received the Global Impact Award, recognizing her worldwide influence ahead of her upcoming album BRAT and North American tour with Troye Sivan.
"Calm Down" by Rema featuring Selena Gomez won Pop Song of the Year. The track, which reached #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, was co-written by Rema, Gomez, Michael Hunter, Amanda Ibanez, and Andre Vibez.
Universal Music Publishing Group earned Publisher of the Year for their work on notable hits including:

- "Dance the Night" (Dua Lipa)
- "Barbie World" (Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice)

Other notable winning songwriters included Mariah Carey, Walter Afanasieff, Dua Lipa, Noah Kahan, St. Vincent, Meghan Trainor, and Leon Thomas.
The awards are determined using performance data from terrestrial and satellite radio, along with programmed and on-demand audio streams, provided by Luminate Data LLC.
