The NFL will maintain its partnership with Jay-Z and Roc Nation despite recent rape allegations, Commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed following the league's winter meetings.

The allegations stem from a lawsuit filed by attorney Tony Buzbee, who represents over 200 clients in sexual assault cases against Sean "Diddy" Combs. One plaintiff recently amended her lawsuit to include Jay-Z (Shawn Carter), claiming he participated in her assault at an awards show afterparty in 2000 when she was 13 years old.

Carter strongly denies these allegations, describing them as "heinous in nature" and part of an extortion scheme. He has filed a countersuit against Buzbee and requested the anonymous plaintiff reveal her identity to proceed with litigation.

The NFL's relationship with Carter's Roc Nation, established in 2019, encompasses event production and social activism initiatives. The partnership has recently been extended, with Roc Nation continuing to produce major events including the upcoming Super Bowl Halftime Show featuring Kendrick Lamar at The Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9.

"We're aware of the civil allegations and Jay-Z's really strong response to that," Goodell stated. "From our standpoint, our relationship is not changing with them, including our preparations for the next Super Bowl."

Goodell praised Roc Nation's contributions, particularly in social justice initiatives, describing them as "great partners" who have become "incredibly comfortable" with NFL event production.

Additionally, Jay-Z's wife Beyoncé is scheduled to perform at the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans Christmas game halftime show.
