Rapper Nelly has been announced as the latest performer at Trump's Inaugural Liberty Ball, one of three official inaugural balls scheduled for Monday, January 20.

The Grammy-winning artist, known for hits like "Country Grammar," "Ride Wit Me," and "Hot In Herre," has defended his decision to perform amid criticism. During a live conversation with rapper Willie D, Nelly emphasized that his participation is about respecting the office of the presidency, not politics.

"I'm not doing this for money. I'm doing this 'cause it's an honor. I respect the office," stated Nelly, who was born on a military base in St. Louis. He noted that his family, including his father, aunts, and uncles, have served in the US military.

Other performers at the inauguration include:

  • Carrie Underwood (performing "America the Beautiful")
  • Kid Rock
  • Billy Ray Cyrus
  • Lee Greenwood

Due to an arctic blast bringing temperatures down to the low 20s in Washington, D.C., Trump has announced that the inauguration ceremony will be moved inside the Capitol building.
