Megadeth Signs With BLKIIBLK Records After Leaving Universal Music Group, New Album Coming 2025
Megadeth has announced their departure from Universal Music Group (UMG) after three albums, signing with Frontiers Label Group's imprint BLKIIBLK Records for their upcoming 17th studio album.

The legendary thrash metal band's new album, currently unnamed, is scheduled for release in fall or winter 2025. Dave Mustaine confirmed the band is approximately 90 days into the creative process, with recording sessions already underway.
This move marks a significant reunion between Mustaine and Tom Lipsky, who previously worked together during Megadeth's time at Sanctuary Records (2001-2004). Lipsky, now serving as A&R head for North America at Frontiers, played a crucial role in bringing Megadeth to BLKIIBLK Records.
"When I first met Tom Lipsky and Bob Chiappardi back in the day I had no idea we would be working together again so many years in the future," said Mustaine. "I look forward to working with Serafino and the team in Italy and I can't wait for the fans to hear the songs from our new record."
BLKIIBLK Records, dedicated to pushing the boundaries of heavy music, also represents artists like Sick N' Beautiful and Biohazard. The label, part of the Naples-based Frontiers Music founded by Serafino Perugino, aims to showcase pioneering and influential talent in the metal genre.
While fans await the new album, Megadeth continues touring, with upcoming performances scheduled at Bonnaroo and Norway's Tons of Rock in June, followed by European dates in October.
