The GoFundMe campaign was created by a friend to help Griffin Goldsmith (Moore's brother-in-law) and his wife Kit, who lost everything to the Eaton fire. Griffin, a touring musician, lost his entire collection of drums and percussion equipment used for his livelihood. The couple is expecting their first child in the coming weeks.

Moore and her husband Taylor Goldsmith also suffered significant damage to their Altadena home, located 30 miles east of Pacific Palisades. While their main house remains standing but uninhabitable, they lost Taylor and Griffin's studio containing all their musical equipment, along with their garage and back house.

"People questioning whether we're helping out our own family or attributing some arbitrary amount of money Google says someone has is NOT helpful or empathetic," Moore stated. "Of course we are helping them."

The fundraising campaign has already exceeded its initial $60,000 goal. Moore expressed feeling survivor's guilt, noting that while their situation is difficult, many others in their community, including everyone on their street, have lost everything to the wildfires, which are currently only 13% contained in the Pacific Palisades area.
