Eric Avery shared a recording session video on Instagram, mentioning he's writing new bass lines to Stephen's drumming and anticipating Dave Navarro's contributions for 2025. This collaboration mirrors their previous project, Deconstruction, from the 1990s when they briefly worked without Farrell.

The new music venture follows recent band tensions, specifically a Boston concert incident where Farrell attacked Navarro on stage. This led to the cancellation of Jane's Addiction's reunion tour, with the band citing Farrell's "continuing pattern of behavior and mental health difficulties" as the reason.

This isn't the first time the band members have collaborated without Farrell. In 1991, Navarro and Avery formed Deconstruction, releasing one self-titled album in 1994 before Navarro joined the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Navarro recently praised the Deconstruction album on Instagram, describing it as "cinematic and soundscapey" and highlighting the musical chemistry between himself and Avery.

While the members haven't officially labeled this new project as Deconstruction 2.0, they are actively creating new material as a trio, marking a new chapter in their musical journey without their original frontman.
