The venue's owner James Dolan has previous success with Styles, who sold out 15 shows at Madison Square Garden in 2022. This booking would mark a significant shift for the Sphere, which has primarily featured acts appealing to older audiences like U2, The Eagles, and The Dead.

The Sphere currently generates more revenue from daily film screenings, including "Postcards From Earth" and "V-U2: An Immersive Concert Film," than from live concerts. For context, U2's opening residency commanded a $10 million production fee.

Before Styles' potential residency, the venue will host:

  • Kenny Chesney (18 shows in May-June 2025)
  • Backstreet Boys (18 shows through mid-August)

Styles has maintained a low profile since concluding his Love On Tour in 2023. His recent public appearances include running the Tokyo Marathon in February 2024 and attending a U2 concert at the Sphere in November with his girlfriend.

This potential residency represents a strategic move for the Sphere to attract younger audiences and boost its profitability through contemporary star power.
