Billy McFarland has announced Fyre Festival 2 is officially happening in Mexico, though no headliners have been confirmed yet. The festival is scheduled for May 30 to June 2 in Isla Mujeres, off the Yucatan peninsula.

The festival promises to feature artists across electronic, hip-hop, pop, and rock genres, along with additional experiences like professional skateboarding demonstrations and MMA technique classes. Unlike the original festival's attempt to build everything from scratch, Fyre Festival 2 will utilize existing infrastructure for accommodations, dining, and facilities.

Tickets are currently available in multiple tiers:

• Basic tickets start at $1,400
• Premium packages up to $1.1 million
• Accommodations must be purchased separately

McFarland, who served four years in federal prison for fraud related to the original Fyre Festival, won't be handling the operational details this time. Professional festival operators have been brought on board, along with established hotel, travel, and ticketing companies to manage logistics.

The original 2017 Fyre Festival became infamous after promising luxury accommodations but delivering bare mattresses and refugee-style tents. For the new iteration, McFarland emphasizes that the festival will rely on existing infrastructure rather than attempting to build a temporary luxury experience.

While 2,000 tickets have been released for sale, no ticket tiers have sold out as of now. The festival's success will largely depend on whether McFarland's assembled team can deliver a properly organized event and if the public is willing to give the Fyre brand another chance.
