Young Thug's father, Jeffrey Williams Sr., expressed mixed feelings about his son's plea deal and subsequent release from jail. While grateful for his freedom, Williams Sr. wanted his son to continue fighting the case and prove his innocence.

Speaking to 11Alive outside the courthouse, Williams Sr. revealed he was "startled" by the decision but continues to support his son's choices. "I wanted him to keep fighting. Let's make them continue to embarrass themselves, but at the same time, I never tried to interfere with his decisions," he stated.

A major point of contention is the 10-year ban preventing Young Thug from returning to Metro Atlanta. Williams Sr. strongly opposes this restriction, viewing it as an unjust punishment that separates his son from his hometown.

Throughout the legal proceedings, Williams Sr. has been a vocal supporter of both Young Thug and fellow YSL member Gunna. Despite criticism surrounding Gunna's Alford plea, Williams Sr. defended him, acknowledging the immense pressure the entire YSL family faced from the legal system.

While concerned about the plea deal's conditions, Williams Sr. remains optimistic about his son's future. "I feel great that he's going home...I raised him to be the man that he is. I've always been in his life, from a pup to now. And I'm gonna continue to be in his life," he affirmed.
