Epic Games Files Court Motion to Force Apple's Fortnite App Store Approval
Epic Games has filed a new court request asking Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers to compel Apple to allow Fortnite back onto the US App Store, following their ongoing legal dispute over App Store policies.

Epic Games recently won a significant victory when Judge Rogers ruled that Apple was in "willful violation" of an injunction regarding anticompetitive pricing. However, Apple announced plans to appeal the ruling and continues to block Fortnite from both the US App Store and its release on the Epic Games store in Europe.
While Apple claims it isn't blocking Fortnite outside the United States, they've requested Epic Sweden to "resubmit the app update without including the US storefront." Apple's attorney, Mark A. Perry, stated the company won't act on the Fortnite submission until the Ninth Circuit rules on their request for a partial stay of the new injunction.
Epic argues that Apple is:
- Denying them the opportunity to benefit from pro-competitive rules
- Punishing the publisher by blocking access to the market
- Sending a warning message to other developers
The situation remains at a standstill until the court decides on Apple's appeal, with Apple indicating they'll consider changing their position only if Epic presents new factual or legal developments.
