Ed Sheeran has recorded a unique collaboration with extreme metal band Cradle of Filth, though its release remains uncertain. The track, completed two years ago, won't appear on Cradle of Filth's upcoming album "The Screaming of the Valkyries."

According to frontman Dani Filth, the song focuses on self-affirmation and successfully blends both artists' distinct styles. The collaboration features Sheeran's signature acoustic guitar work alongside Cradle of Filth's characteristic elements, including blast beats and Filth's extreme vocal style.

The song has been fully mixed and completed but remains unreleased due to scheduling conflicts and management decisions. Filth explains they chose to exclude it from their April album release to prevent it from overshadowing their other material.

While only a select few have heard the finished track, Filth describes it as "fucking fantastic" and "a good marriage" between the two artists' sounds. He emphasizes that it strikes a balance between commercial appeal and metal authenticity, avoiding both pure technical death metal and pop territory.

The release date and format for this unexpected collaboration remain undetermined, though both parties confirm it will eventually see the light of day.
