The Department of Justice (DOJ) has issued new information requests as part of its ongoing antitrust investigation into Live Nation and Ticketmaster, according to Bloomberg reports. DOJ officials have expressed frustration with Ticketmaster executives' slow response to previous information requests.

The investigation focuses on compliance with the 2010 consent decree, which was implemented when Live Nation and Ticketmaster merged. This decree, originally set for ten years and extended by five years in 2019, restricts the relationship between the company's tour promotion and venue businesses.

The probe gained public attention following the 2022 Ticketmaster outage during Taylor Swift's Eras Tour ticket sales, though the investigation predates this incident. Senators have accused Live Nation of "egregiously stonewalling" the investigation, while the company maintains that confidentiality concerns prevented them from sharing certain commercially sensitive information.

While initial reports suggested the DOJ might file a lawsuit by the end of 2023, the extended investigation could lead to legal action by the end of 2024. Live Nation continues to deny all allegations of anti-competitive conduct.
