Daryl Hall has firmly stated he will never perform with John Oates again, following their major falling out in 2023. "That ship has gone to the bottom of the ocean," Hall told The Times of London, citing disappointments and betrayals in their partnership.

The conflict erupted when Oates attempted to sell his stake in their joint publishing company, Whole Oats Enterprises, to Primary Wave Music. Hall responded with a lawsuit, calling it "the ultimate partnership betrayal" and a "completely clandestine and bad faith move."

Oates defended his decision on Good Morning America, stating: "Daryl has always wanted to be his own man... If I sell my half, he can do what he wants." He added that the situation was "ruining my life" and compared it to other artists selling their catalogs.

Hall asserts he was the primary contributor to the duo's success, claiming he wrote about 90% of their hits. Together, Hall & Oates sold over 60 million records and achieved 16 Top 10 singles throughout their career.

While this marks the end of their performing partnership, Hall continues his musical journey. He recently collaborated with Dave Stewart of Eurythmics, releasing his sixth solo studio album "D" - his first record in over a decade. His impressive list of past collaborators includes Elvis Costello, Bob Dylan, Stevie Wonder, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, and David Bowie.
