The BRIT Awards 2025 ceremony has received over 800 complaints to UK media watchdog Ofcom, primarily concerning Sabrina Carpenter's performance.

Carpenter's opening performance featured a medley of "Espresso," "Bed Chem," and "Rule Britannia!" She appeared in a red sparkly mini-dress styled after the King's Guard uniform, later changing into a red teddy with stockings. The performance included provocative choreography on a pink and purple heart bed, surrounded by dancers.

Additional complaints targeted Charli XCX, who won five awards during the ceremony. During one of her acceptance speeches, she addressed ITV's alleged concerns about her black dress, saying, "I heard that ITV were complaining about my nipples. I feel like we're in the era of 'free the nipple' though, right?"

An Ofcom spokesperson confirmed they are currently assessing the 825 complaints against their broadcasting rules. This number is relatively small compared to previous incidents, such as the 58,000 complaints received in 2021 regarding Piers Morgan's comments about Meghan Markle.

The timing of the performances may affect any potential investigation, as the BRIT Awards aired from 8:15 pm to 10:40 pm, straddling the 9:00 pm watershed when content restrictions become less strict for child viewers.
