Boomplay Partners With MTN Ghana: Music Streaming Service to Reach 22 Million New Customers
African streaming platform Boomplay has partnered with MTN Ghana to integrate premium streaming services with telecom data plans. This collaboration aims to make music streaming more accessible and affordable for millions of users across Ghana.
Boomplay, which currently boasts 70 million monthly active users and a library of 90 million tracks, will now be available to MTN Ghana's 22 million customers through various subscription packages including monthly, weekly, and daily plans.
The partnership offers:

- Reduced data costs for MTN subscribers

- Partnered with France's Generations Radio for a weekly "Top Africa Charts" program
- Expanded its presence in the growing African music market
The African music streaming landscape continues to evolve, with competitors like Mdundo reaching 21.5 million monthly active users and targeting 50 million by mid-2025. This growth has attracted major industry players, with Warner Music acquiring Africori and Universal Music launching Virgin Music Label & Artist Services in Africa.
