Atlanta Christian radio station WFSH-FM "The Fish" will cease operations at the end of January following its sale by Salem Media Group to Educational Media Foundation (EMF) for $80 million.

The sale is part of Salem Media Group's larger $160 million debt reduction strategy, which includes selling seven Christian music stations. "The Fish," a 24-year fixture in Atlanta's Christian radio landscape, will conclude its broadcasting on January 31st.

Station hosts Kevin Avery and Taylor Scott expressed gratitude to their listeners, stating they were "incredibly honored" to have provided "Good, Clean, Fun" for over two decades.

Salem CEO David Santrella explained that this strategic exit from the contemporary Christian music format will significantly improve the company's balance sheet and capital structure. Following these transactions, Salem will maintain only its revolving line of credit.

EMF, which owns K-LOVE and Air1 networks and operates over 1,000 signals nationwide, will acquire the stations. Salem co-founder Edward G. Atsinger praised EMF's dedication to delivering quality Christian music content, citing their proven track record in positive and encouraging broadcasting.
