Alabama's Historic June Jam Festival Takes Hiatus Until 2026 After Scheduling Conflicts
Alabama's June Jam festival has been postponed until 2026, following its brief return in 2023 after a 26-year hiatus. The postponement is due to economic factors, talent availability challenges, and scheduling conflicts with the nearby Rock the South festival, which moved its dates to June.
While the main festival is postponed, the Fan Appreciation Weekend (June 26-28) will proceed as planned, featuring:
- Teddy Gentry Singing with the Stars contest
- Songwriters Concert
- Fandemonium on the Farm at Randy Owen's property
- Various events at the band's Fort Payne headquarters

The festival's management team, including Tony Conway, Mike Smardak, and Greg Fowler, expressed gratitude to the city of Fort Payne, volunteers, first responders, and local businesses for their continued support. Randy Owen, Teddy Gentry, and the Jeff Cook Estate also acknowledged the importance of the event in funding the June Jam Foundation.
June Jam's history includes impressive attendance figures, growing from 30,000 fans in 1982 to over 67,000 by 1991, establishing itself as one of the nation's largest country music events before its initial hiatus.
